MEET THE BLOGGER EVENT UPDATE

Good morning friends! How are you today? I promised you to give an update about the 'Meet the Blogger' Amsterdam event. As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, the reactions for the event are overwhealming. I had many e-mails, comments and post via Facebook and Twitter and I hope the event will be interesting for all the bloggers and bloggers to be. The program will be presented in March but today I'd love to share some highlights of it with you:

Holly Becker from Decor8 will be speaking at the event. In addition she will present her book Decorate to the Dutch media. She will do a signing session afterwards and you will be able to buy her book during the event.

Marije and Natasha from Flavourites will be our second guest speakers during the event. They run a lovely website and they will share their experience with blogging and webshops with us. In addition they will create a lovely goodie bag for all the attendees:-))

And then last but not least we will have Angelie and Cecile from Lily's cupcakes. This wonderful Dutch company started a successful cupcake business. They do use a lot of social media to promote the business. And yes, they will bring some cupcakes to the event so you can try and test it yourself.

TODAY I WANT TO BE IN...LAOS (URBAN STYLE VIBES*)

If you are a frequent reader of Urban Style Vibes* you know how much I love to travel to the most beautiful places on earth. Today I'd love to fly to the Alila Luang Prabang hotel in Laos. MY BEDROOM MAKE-OVER

Hello everyone, happy weekend! Excuse me for my absence this week. My life has been busy, hectic in the past couple of days but I'm glad to be back here because I have a lot of news to share with you. Tomorrow I will give you an update about the 'Meet the Blogger' event. Today I'd love to share my recent bedroom make-over with you. Last week I told you that I've won the wonderful the Yumeko Bedlinnen set. I shared the first images with you. And now I'm proud to show you how it looks like in my own bedroom. I love the clean white sheets. The cushions are from the new H&M Home collection. I think they add a great touch of marine-look to the room. The side lamps are from IKEA. It's great to see that with little changes, and a limited budget you can create a new atmosphere in your bedroom. It feels so fresh and brand new.

A TOUCH OF YELLOW

Spring is in the air in Holland. Today the sun is out already and although the temperature is still low I feel spring is just around the corner. I'm inspired by this yellow-touch interiors. I found some lovely inspiration on Fabulous K from Kelly. Yellow can be an extra colour to give the interior a fresh touch. Combined with white and some gray/oyster tones makes it complete. What do you think of this combinations? Do you like it?

Happy Monday Friends! I'm glad to be back here after a long weekend. First of all I'd like to thank you all with a bunch of virtual tulips today. You are all so lovely and I saw many bloggers who promoted the 'Meet the Blogger' event on their own blog. I also found two additional product sponsor and a another speaker last weekend so the program is almost ready to present to all of you. It's amazing how much power we have when we virtually work together. So you really deserve these tulips today!!! I bought these tulips this week and for me this is the perfect start of spring. All these lovely new flowers give me a boost. Do you know that feeling?

PS. These tulips are also for my mother (who is in Spain at this moment..) because it's her birthday today! Congratulations mum!!!

Secondly I was pretty surprised last week when I received a Twitter message from the Yumeko eco shop:
"Congratulations you are the winner of the Valentine's promotion. You win an eco-bedlinnen set"

You can imagine that was a big surprise for me! And guess what the package already arrive the other day:

A personal letter and a little bag with lavender and a wooden heart accomplished the package

The bedlinnen is packed in a lovely white bag

Next week I will show this bedlinen on my bed and tell you more about the experience

Happy Friday friends! Are you ready to celebrate the weekend? What are your plans? My weekend is busy with lovely things. I will continue to work on the program for the Meet the Blogger event  in Amsterdam. LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED...

Happy Valentine's day to all of you! I hope you're having a romantic one. Wheter you celebrate it or not. Life is too short not to mention it. So to me every day is one to celebrate with your loved ones and friends. It's never too late or to early to say that you love them. So this past weekend I went on baking a HEART Cake. Nothing special but I had a lot of fun making it. I usually do not post about cooking here on Urban Style Vibes* but I want to make an exception to that rule. Here is the guide on how you make your own heart cake:

1. Mix 200 gram butter

2. Mix the butter with the cakemix, 3 eggs and a little milk

3. Put the 'dough' in the heart

4. Bake it for 60 minutes in the oven

5. Pimp the cake with candy hearts 

And last but not least. Enjoy the cake!!!!

Hi everyone! Happy weekend. Will it be a romantic weekend just before Valentines day on Monday?? What are your plans? I will pick up the Mr. from the airport today. He travelled to the USA and now he returns from San Francisco (lucky him;-). This afternoon I will try to bake a heart cake so I will keep you posted about that plan. I'M THRILLED!!!

Hello everyone! How are you? What are your plans for the weekend? It's Friday evening and my weekend has just started. I'm home alone because the Mr. is traveling so I have some to wrap up the week with you. I'm so exited today! After the announcement of the 'Meet the Blogger' event last week here it's a kind of roller coaster...Guess what: I received a lot of e-mails with ideas for the program, the goodie bag and a lot of international and Dutch bloggers already confirmed their attendance. A lovely key-note speaker has confirmed her attendance.The Facebook page is up and running and attracks new followers and some lovely bloggers already posted the initiative on their own blog. Thank you so much!! It means THE WORLD TO me. It's already a great honour to me to meet you all in the virtual world but I guess it will be a real treat to meet you all in person in Amsterdam where we can enjoy the blogger vibes 'live'. Next week I will inform you about the program and special guest. So please stay tuned and spread the word.

WOODEN WONDERS FROM BRASIL

Wow, what an amazing table was my first reaction when I saw the image of this gorgeous, wooden table. This is the work of Hugo Franca. Franca was an employeee at a computer company in Brasil until he resigned from his job and moved to the north of Brazil in Bahia. He spent 15 years learning the basics of working with wood. From that moment on Franca designs impressive pieces of furniture from old canoes and abandonned trunks.
